Product Details
We are proud to offer this lovely 1959 vintage Martin 000-18 for sale here at Motomusic!
One of the most desirable 000 Martins ever made and a rare find in the UK. Natural Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. A great sounding acoustic, warm and sweet with both balance and volume.
This guitar is in great shape for its age with some light finish checking, a couple of finish cracks, pickguard marks, and an old repair at the bottom edge of the body, It has an enlarged endpin hole from a previous endpin jack fitment. But all in all a very original and genuine instrument, It has its original factory-fitted Grover machine heads. The frets have plenty of life in them and are nicely crowned and polished. The dark Rosewood fingerboard is excellent, with just some light playwear on the second and third position,
Some previous history that we will share with the lucky new owner.
Sold with a modern Martin hardshell case,
The 00018 as we still know it today was introduced in 1934 when Martin switched from the 12 fret model to the 14 fret model. The model has remained in production ever since, and to this day remains a popular choice among musicians looking for an all-round guitar that excels at fingerstyle.
None of the modern processes that simulate aging can recreate the sound of a feather-light (Just 3.80lb) vintage Martin; it just doesn't get much better than this!
We are an appointment-only, store. All instruments are handled by Motomusic employees only.
We are always happy to consider quality part exchange instruments here.
