Product Details
This is a really 1963 Fender Stratocaster, Refinished in Red many years ago as many were, due to that legend Mr. Hank Marvin.
It has many original features and has remained very close to how it left the factory 60 years ago...
It has the original pickups, original pots (they date 1963) unbroken wiring, and a three-way selector. Original single-line machine heads which function perfectly and are in excellent order, original frets (which are in great shape) Rosewood veneer fingerboard with some light wear in all the right places. Original clean and almost fault-free Nitrate pickguard, original bridge saddles, and it even the original Tremolo arm, control knobs and switch tip!
We think the strap buttons have been replaced along with the output jack socket.
The top nut measures 41mm and this guitar weighs just 7.42Lb
The case is period correct and it even has its original Fender owner's manual (with this guitar's serial number listed) and neck shim. The refinish has aged, but it's not as good as some of the work that todays luthiers produce, but that is something for the next owner to undertake if so desired. We highly recommend Paul Neild and Clive Brown for refinishing vintage instruments like this, their work is outstanding.
This is a very playable guitar with an excellent setup and "acoustic" ring when played unplugged.
