This beauty has been in the same household pretty much since new. It's now being sold on behalf of the original owner. It's been very very well looked after. You hardly ever see these original 1970s SA212 Hiwatt amplifiers for sale at all. This one is dated to 1973 from the pot codes and speaker codes. The amplifier is incredibly original, including both Partridge transformers, the pre amp valves, both speakers, and the majority of the circuitboard. The power valves have been replaced for a pair of Electro Harmonix EL34 which sound good, alongside the 4x original Mullard ECC83s.

The pair of speakers are 122231 Fane 12" speakers, both with their original cones. On the service this amplifier had last year, the tech disabled the polarity switch (kind of pointless anyway in my opinion!), took out the 110v option to the transformer (though this is very easy to reverse, just one simple wire back in place), and added a bias adjuster trim pot which makes it easier to bias the power valves on these. It's all good work and done to a high standard. It is ready to use and blow your face off! You can really see the art that went into the design of these circuits - truly stunning.

Cosmetically this is in brilliant condition with literally the smallest few light bumps - nothing significant. The back panels were of course missing on this so a set has been made to compensate which have been made to a high standard and fit the bill perfectly.
